The Whiti Farm Park can be found in New Zealand’s Coromandel region. A short drive from Whitianga brings you to this delightful animal park situated on 8 acres of land. If you are looking for a break from the beaches (like we were) and need a place to spend a 1/2 day then I highly recommend this place.
What we did not realize was how cute the grounds would be with play areas and lots of animals to feed. Ella took every opportunity to feed all the animals while Aubrey was a bit more hesitant. Food can be purchased at the reception desk and most animals are suitable for hand feeding.
The farm had many animals such as goats, donkeys, pigs, bunnies and much more. The website advertises to have over 50 different species of animals/birds/reptiles which is not surprising considering how long we spent feeding and admiring them all.
The dog “Storm” pictured below was our tour guide for the park. He led us to each animal and around the park. The girls loved having a dog to navigate!
Along the farm there were cute little play areas. The playhouse had a kitchen and stairs to the top. We brought a picnic lunch to enjoy under the shade. The covered barn featured an old fire truck and hay maze. Here we rested while the girls played on the pirate ship and treehouse.
The grounds included a couple of trampolines for the girls to jump! Beware the springs are exposed with no safety netting.
They allow the children to hold bunnies when they have babies; unfortunately, there were no babies during our visit.
There were plenty of photo opportunities throughout the day for the whole family. Our goal of burning off some of the kids’ energy worked and they both napped in the car following a long morning at the farm.
Our next stop was the popular Hot Water Beach for some fun in the sun. You cannot beat the value for a day spent here. Super cute and the animals love kids!
