Hot Water Beach is one of New Zealand’s most talked beaches due to your ability to dig your own spa pool in the sand. Unfortunately, we did not visit at the correct time of the day. The best time to visit is within two hours each way of the low tide. The waves were rough at this beach and could easily knock a person down. I know from experience!

The sun rays were strong on the day we visited preventing us from staying out long. Maybe one day we can return to dig our own spa pool!
