I was around 9 years old the 1st time I put on a pair of water skis. The two skis were attached together not to separate when they pulled me up. I continued to water ski on and off through my teens and early twenties on fresh water lakes. The opportunity presented itself to water ski on the ocean and I had to give it a go. It has been at least fifteen years since my last try at this so was a bit rusty and unsure if I could even pull myself up.
It’s just like riding a bike! Sure it took me a go or two but I made it up. Now my form is not the best and I hit a wake and lost it at one time. Still I did something that I had done before by skiing on the ocean. Bucket list √
Honestly it is a bit easier to stay afloat in the salt water. Check out my video for a good laugh at my expense. I made sure to include my 1st go where I swallowed roughly a gallon of the ocean water.
The girls had their fun tubing around the ocean! Aubrey mentioned wanting to learn to water ski after leaving the ocean. Too late for this trip but something I will definitely teach her in the future. This was an incredible day laying on this perfect beach with these views. I am so thankful for wonderful friends inviting us to come along!
